The cave liked room, represent the primitive stage of human’s civilization, it suggest the discovery if technology at that period of time. Windows has been placed on the wall where near the stair. So when one walk into the room first, he won’t see any windows until he turn around to the narrow path, and that’s the reflection of the light from whose small windows on the back wall lead him to find the stair.
The window has been design very small which also refer to the primitive bare where there were only small openings can be made on the cave wall.

So functionaly, the cave room is a bedroom, as this primtive space
comfort the basic human instinct. also sleep required less lighting then anyother day time activetis, as the room has only small windows can allowed nature light coming into the space.
